Prompt user to exit application
During a session I may mistakenly press the Back button and the application just exits without warning. Consider adding an option to prompt the user for confirmation to exit the application. You may make it configurable for those users who hate to be prompted.
This is now available in the beta channel.
I decided against the “double back” manoeuvre as I thought it a bit inconsistent. You press “back” to cancel something. Pressing it again should cancel the action of cancelling rather than enforcing it. Moreover, if you accidentally hit “back” once, then you are likely to hit it twice.
There is an explicit dialog with a button to exit out of SkEye.
By default the confirmation comes up “Always” but it can be changed in settings to “Never” or “Aligned”.

This should only be needed for alignment mode.
Great idea!! -

Good ideas there, Alastair and Leo. Thanks for suggesting.
Do you guys need this even when alignments have not been added? Else, I can make the dialog/bubble show only when alignments have been added.

The ES File Explorer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop) has an elegant, minimalist way of prompting to confirm exit.
- Press the Back button when at the root directory, a bubble comes up for a couple of seconds saying "Press again to exit".
- Press the Back button again while the bubble is up and the app exits.
It's easier to use than a dialog box and not as obtrusive.
