  1. The ability to create observing plans.

Great and useful app for our astronomers!.. If i may come with a feature request:
If one could create a observing list beforehand, and then later select these objects.
for example before your viewing session you search a object you want to observe and when you have found it you get the option to "add to observing list"
When your list is ready, skeye saves these objects and then, during your observing session, the user can select these objects one by one and skeye will point to that object.
I hope you understand what i mean.

  2. Add Augmented Reality ...

Would it be possible to use a digital camera input for a background of your planetarium? Just to check if the stars on camera are offset from digital representation on screen? If the cameras in modern smartphones are sensitive enough, of course. And maybe an option to set the transparency level of the planetarium. Just an idea....

  3. Add more object details

Amazing, definitely the best goto app. Currently have to bounce back and forth to another app for object details tho. A pain. I am looking forward to future updates. I bought the app, keep up the great work!

  4. Align to the zenith (or any other fixed point)

Keep the telescope in perfect vertical (using bubble level) and align using the zenith coordinates.

Reopening, because I think there is potential here for creative uses that I hadn’t thought of before.

Such as aligning a radio antenna to East (as suggested by Adrian on email).

  5. Separate sensors and display

Sensors on one device and display on another with the two communicating via blue tooth. So the viewing angle wouldn't be tied to the pointing angle. For example a phone strapped to the ota for sensing and a tablet in hand for viewing.

  6. Option to use current location

I may be out hiking. Needing to add my location each time is unnecessary. If I plan on going back then I can see saving the spot but even then your location could be off by a few feet or a few hundred yards.

Yes, it makes sense to have a dynamic location that is based on current location of the device. This will benefit those users who don't mind keeping location services enabled for longer times. Not a big issue these days because newer versions of Android offer good control over location permissions for apps.

Note to myself: A related idea would be to inform the user when current location is very different from their currently selected named location, if any.

Aside, note that a few feet or few yards will not make much difference in terms of accuracy. 2 kilometers on the earth's surface roughly translates to about 1 arc-minute of difference on the celestial sphere.

  7. Create Reminders from Time Machine

(Edited to remove idea of year selection)

Am fascinated with your Time Machine feature.

I want to be able to make reservations with whatever I see in the telrad with corresponding time and have it notified to me just right before the reservation time .. For example,, I may see Uranus and Neptune so close together on a future date and I can really screenshot it and save it ,but I would rather reserve the time and have it notified to me within a week notice , for example.. So I can forget about it until the time has come

The ability to jump to a year was added in a recent SkEye release.

The ability to mark an event in the calendar is a nice idea. SkEye could just add an event in the user’s calendar. It wouldn’t have to keep track of the event itself!

  8. Be able to change to original Greek constellation names rather than latin

What the title says also the ability to change the language of the interface (Not with bot translation though) would be also nice.

P.S Even better would be to have alternative names in pop ups or brackets etc

  9. introduce a hysteresis to rotation of labels

tilting the device to an angle of slightly more then 45 degrees causes labels of objects to rotate. The angle for rotating back to the former orientation is about identical, so you can held the device at an angle where label orientation will quickly and repetitively flip between horizontal and vertical.
Adding a hysteresis to the angle at which rotation happens will prevent this.

  10. Celestial Poles location aid

Provide a permanent, small, highlighted circle around the North and South Celestial Poles.
With the phone or tablet mounted on the scope, this will aid in performing an initial Polar alignment.

  12. Globular & Open Clusters

are not alike, so I would like to see more clear distinctions between them on the chart like color code or shape.
