How can we improve SkEye Camera?

  1. Change of plane

    I would like to change the plane of the axis. By placing the phone parallel to the optic axis (flat on the tube)

  2. Binning

    Being able to bin has some advantages:
    * SNR improves
    * Memory requirements go down
    * The rest of the processing is faster

    Downside:
    * Resolution decreases, which might affect accuracy of plate solving. Need to test this out.

  3. ZWO camera support

    I read that one priority might be external camera support. The ZWO camera app works, but is extremely limited. It would be really, really nice to be able to control ZWO cameras with the features already available in SkEye Cam, including future live stacking for android!

  4. Support image flipping for digiscoping

    I often digiscope with a diagonal, which flips the image. "It would be nice" to be able to flip the image right-to-left or top-to-bottom in camera.

  5. The ability to get to all of my Samsung S21 Ultra cameras, including the 10x, would make this the ultimate pair of binoculars!

    Some newer cellphones -- like mine -- have a 10x camera installed. This is in essence a pair of digital binoculars. So far, the OpenCamera API doesn't completely support these. With this camera enabled, SkEye Pro + SkEye Cam would be the ultimate portable space exploration tool!

  6. Option for beep sounds during Batch Capture

    Sounds could indicate completion of individual capture, as well as completion of the whole batch.

  7. Saving and choosing from a list of presets

    It should be possible to save multiple Camera settings along with Plate Solving calibrations, and name them.

    This list of presets should be per Camera as each camera has different properties.

    Example list of presets could be:

    PlateSolve DefaultLens
    PlateSolve 60mm
    LongExposure Untracked 6seconds
    VeryLongExposure Tracked 30seconds

  8. Manually triggered mode

    The continuous capture mode is not suitable for finding the best exposure settings, especially for long exposure times, since setting up and tearing down the camera pipeline takes a long time.

    A manually triggered mode would be faster.

    An option to quickly switch between the two modes would be ideal.

    Will be especially useful for capturing planets and their moon, for example.
