Battery consumed when not running.
Gr8 app!
One bug still persists for me. Even when skeye is not running, it seems to continue consuming battery by polling sensors. Found by dialing ##4636## also standard battery info shows skeye using power even when fc of skeye not available.
This happens on my Desire HD even if I haven't used skeye since recharge.
3 votesAs noted in the comments, the sensors were being polled only when you press the HOME button. Normal exit via the RETURN button was not causing this issue.
I have now changed SkEye to stop polling sensors even when HOME button has been pressed. Available in release 1.3.
There is only one exception to this. When you are in the “Add alignment screen” and you press HOME. This activity requires to know the precise position at the time when the alignment is added.

As of version 0.9.18 M10 is listed before M9.

Support zooming with buttons
Xperia X10 with latest ROM (2.1) does not support pinch gesture.

Classifications
I would like to have the ability to search for and display objects based on magnitude and constellation. Also by type. Galaxy, planetary nebula or globular cluster for example.So say: show all mag 10 to 12 galaxies in Ursa Major.

It has a completely new sensor manager, which should reduce the jitter. Let me know otherwise.

Bug: 'More' option in option menu not showing up.
Currently on my EVO in SkEye when I use the 'More' option in the options menu it appears black. I can tell it is a color issue because selecting the black button I can see the Full Screen and Settings options.
It also appears that I am stuck in night mode. Selecting "Night Mode" does nothing.I have the latest version, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still have this issue.
BTW I am the app developer for Telescope Flashlight and Telescope Calculator. Currently working on night mode for the latter-- very painful to implement especially since now…

Thanks for the detailed report. Another user was complaining but the report was vague. With your description I was able to nail it in 2 minutes!
About night mode, it only shuts off the soft key backlights, and only on phones that support it.

SkEye has now moved to Android 2.2 as the primary Android version. In version 5.0 you can Move the app to SD.

Ability to clear alignments without quitting the app
Currently, to clear the alignments, the user needs to quit the app.
There should be a way to do it without quitting.

possibility to delete old locations

ability to add Lists of objects ie, Caldwell,Herschell400,etc...
Since there are so many plans or list of objects it would be nice to be able to input these into the program, like you can on some of the star and DSO charting programs

Hide android status bar
The android status bar remains unhidden. It's bright enough to ruin the eye adaptation. (at least on my Motorola Milestone with ADW launcher. I turned the status bar off in ADW launcher settings but it stil displays when i launch SkEye)

Lots of changes that should help Dark Adaptation.
- Changed the color theme to Red over Black.
- Full-screen by default, menu option to toggle Full-screen mode
- Long-press or Double-tap to bring up the option menu (avoids fumbling in the dark, esp when key backlight is disabled).

Support zooming
Zoom buttons.

Zoom buttons are not yet implemented, as I think they are redundant and will clutter the interface.
If anyone NEEDS zoom buttons, please feel free to create a new idea for that.

Implement the night mode
Implement the night mode and turn off the softkeys backlight while in this mode
