Polar Alignment Tools: Offeset Mode
Splitting my original post out into one idea per post;
https://skeye.uservoice.com/forums/93533-skeye-app/suggestions/45140077-polar-alignment-tools
The further you get from the equator, the higher in the sky the NCP & SCP get. Currently I have my phone mounted perpendicular to my Star Tracker to get alignment which makes it very hard sometimes to get down to view and control the phone. Would be awesome if there was an offset option in SkyEye so I could mount my phone horizontal to my tracker with the screen facing upwards. SkEye would effectively offset all the values coming from the sensor by 90 degrees so on the…

Globular & Open Clusters
are not alike, so I would like to see more clear distinctions between them on the chart like color code or shape.

Simple way to reset zoom to default FOV
Right now it appears the only way to reset the zoom to default is to exit the application or remember the default FOV and manually zoom back to it. A simple one-tap solution would be greatly appeciated (or even just using the back button, the same way you exit manual mode).

Add support for daylight savings time
It seems to me that SkEye v8.3.6 ignores the daylight savings time offset when the daylight savings are in effect. Support for DST would be appreciated by those who live where DST is in effect.
Steps to reproduce:
1. In the settings on the Android device set the time zone to Pacific Time (-7 with DST)
2. In the SkEye set location to San Francisco, CA, USA
3. Search for the Moon
4. Press scroll button
5. Select time machine and set the date/time to May, 26, 2021, 04:18 am
- observe: the moon is not close enough to antisolar…2 votes -

full / partly translation
some people will sure appreciate translation only for stars, constellations, etc. (= "database"), but not for menu / settings, so if u could add option to translation settings (when finished) to choose level of translation between "full" and "object names only", it would be great ;)

Filter by compass
Filter list of objects by compass points. Could be a selection list, tick off those desired. I never have a full sky to view, and this would be very handy.

Make it work on Kindle Fire.
Free version works unpredictably and inaccurately on Kindle Fire probably due to Kindle' s lack of necessary sensors. Because at times it does perform close enough to be useful, perhaps it can be tuned to use what sensors are present.

Add user input offset to Azimuth for object
I have a manual azimuth setting circle attaching to the moving base of a dobsonian. I want to use skeye to figure out real time Alt/Az cooords. I do not want to align the base everytime I use it. Instead I will figure out the offset of the needle from North and add an offset to the Az reading for a star to figure out what degree must be under the needle. If Skeye could add it for me in the search window it would help me a lot. The same could be done for Alt, but it is not…

I would love to see sidereal time. And perhaps other astronomical timekeeping displayed.
I think sidereal time and maybe other astronomical timekeeping displayed would be practical.

show astronomical weather conditions
I think astronomical weather conditions would be a convenience. Good and bad weather will determine if you can or can not stargaze with your telescope. Some weather conditions would be visibility, cloud cover.

Simulate Atmospheric Scattering of Sun and Moon light
Whenever I use desktop planetariums, I usually turn off atmosphere effects, hence I am not sure of the utility of this. But recording here to gather others' feedback.

giving a quiz about star and asterism locations
There should be a separate mode in which the user selects what they want to learn, and they must point their phone toward the object, bringing it within the circle. If the person is asked to 'find polaris' they must center it, find Kochab (nearby), maybe the circle is smaller. Maybe if they must find a constellation, the circle is bigger. Similar to Sky Academy App. An interactive quiz while looking at the sky at the same time, with one eye on the phone and the other on the sky, is something I would pay more $ to have such…

Added search level
Search/catalog/stars (pro) Add a 2nd level to search, first by constellation, then by name. Currently very difficult to find due to multiple star designations
