The difference (as I understand it) is that Indirect Mode must be setup for each session (or whenever the OTA is moved). What I am suggesting is a direct offset of live data which would not require manual setup of alignment point(s).
TL:DR
- Alignment Points for PUSHTO sky navigation
- Offset Mode for Polar Alignment while being able to have the phone screen facing upwards.Dominic Ryan shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Dominic Ryan commentedThis would honestly be amazing. I use the ASICAP app for android (via USB using OTG adapter) to get focus dialed in on my ASI120MM guidescope, but that is about as much use as I get out of the app. Would be great if we could use the plate solving and Polar Alignment of SkEye Camera with the benefit of a built for purpose guide scope camera.
ZWO have an Android Camera SDK if this is of assistance?

Yes, it makes sense to have a dynamic location that is based on current location of the device. This will benefit those users who don't mind keeping location services enabled for longer times. Not a big issue these days because newer versions of Android offer good control over location permissions for apps.
Note to myself: A related idea would be to inform the user when current location is very different from their currently selected named location, if any.
Aside, note that a few feet or few yards will not make much difference in terms of accuracy. 2 kilometers on the earth's surface roughly translates to about 1 arc-minute of difference on the celestial sphere.

SkEye now shows a little warning message when the magnetic field strength is abnormal.
Need to now implement a “meter” as suggested in the idea.

Reopening, because I think there is potential here for creative uses that I hadn’t thought of before.
Such as aligning a radio antenna to East (as suggested by Adrian on email).

Awesome, thanks so much Harsh. I have split the first 3 ideas out on their own. Left the voice control out as it sounds like it might be more trouble than it is worth.
Have also added a comment to the ZWO camera support idea for SkEye Camera;

Being able to use a dedicate guide scope here via a OTG USB cable would basically turn SkEye Camera into a serious alternative to the likes of the QHY PoleMaster.
