  1. Add a binary star tab

Binary/multiple stars (especially coloured ones) are popular.
Could these or say the top 250 be added as a separate tab?

  2. Indirect mode on/off toggle

I like to plan and prepare for my viewing when away from the telescope.
I would like an option to toggle on/off indrect mode using the menu.

  3. Add compass ordinals beneath Alt Azm

Beneath the Alt Azm values that appear on the left side of the UI when in landscape mode, it would be great to see the abbreviations for the compass ordinals out to 16 points. For example, N, NNE, NE, ENE, E, etc. I find myself always mentally converting the azimuth to these values, and maybe other people do the same? Thanks.

  9. show astronomical weather conditions

I think astronomical weather conditions would be a convenience. Good and bad weather will determine if you can or can not stargaze with your telescope. Some weather conditions would be visibility, cloud cover.

  10. I would love to see sidereal time. And perhaps other astronomical timekeeping displayed.

I think sidereal time and maybe other astronomical timekeeping displayed would be practical.

  11. Plate solve - Automatic Aligment

Add possibility to plate solve telescope aligment using phone camera. This would help a lot when using manual alt az mount.
Just turn on your phone align it with scope. Plate solve. This would be almost perfect replacement for DSC.

  12. Chromecast

I've been searching for a way to turn my TV into a starfield that displays from the correct location and orientation of the set, that also updates in realtime. In this sense, it would be a "window."

Just curious if Skeye developers have looked into making a Chromecast extension or capability for the app. Thanks! -Frank

  13. Communication with Arduino

I have built an Arduino based laser star tracker, but have to manually input the coordinates. Would be great to somehow connect Skeye to it.

  15. Support phones without magnetometers

I recently moved to Moto G4 Plus only to find out that it does not have magnetometers. since the Moto G4 series is already quite popular, I'm sure many other people will share my problem. In the interest of supporting such platforms, could you please make a workaround for us? I want the feature to be able to manually select a field-of-view on the phone (which I can already do in the app), and then manually align the phone against those features in the sky, to register its orientation. Once registered, the app can use accelerometers and gyroscopes to change…

  16. Show Asteroids

I have no experience in watching asteroids, but some users have previously asked for support for watching Asteroids.

To begin with, SkEye could show a short-list of bright Asteroids.

  17. Allowing virtual DSC to act as a bluetooth service for other mapping software

This could be used to allow other mapping software or devices to utilize the virtual DSC via BETI protocol or similar .

Good idea. Such a service could be used by SkEye itself to connect to another (perhaps older) phone.

I need to check whether Android allows custom bluetooth services to be defined.

  18. 24 hour time format in time-machine

An option to select 24-hour format for Time Machine. Many are not accustomed to the english time format.

  19. Have a reverse color mode for the "Day" color mode.

I like to set up my scope during the day for observing that night. Since my yard has several trees, I need to pick the right spot.

I use Skeye for this in the "Time Machine" mode, but the black screen reflects the light from my face back to my eye and makes the screen hard to read. Also the contrast between the screen and the adjacent sky makes it even harder to see the screen.

A daytime color mode with a white sky and black objects would solve this problem.

    I think.

  20. Create Reminders from Time Machine

(Edited to remove idea of year selection)

Am fascinated with your Time Machine feature.

I want to be able to make reservations with whatever I see in the telrad with corresponding time and have it notified to me just right before the reservation time .. For example,, I may see Uranus and Neptune so close together on a future date and I can really screenshot it and save it ,but I would rather reserve the time and have it notified to me within a week notice , for example.. So I can forget about it until the time has come

The ability to jump to a year was added in a recent SkEye release.

The ability to mark an event in the calendar is a nice idea. SkEye could just add an event in the user’s calendar. It wouldn’t have to keep track of the event itself!
