Filter objects in alignment and search screens
Update by Admin: Changed the title to include all objects (not just stars) and also included the search screen (not just alignment)
I want to filter alignment stars by magnitude. I only need a dozen or so and it is difficult looking through a random list of what the app thinks I want or scrolling through many hundreds of stars sorted by name.

Option to use current location
I may be out hiking. Needing to add my location each time is unnecessary. If I plan on going back then I can see saving the spot but even then your location could be off by a few feet or a few hundred yards.
8 votesYes, it makes sense to have a dynamic location that is based on current location of the device. This will benefit those users who don't mind keeping location services enabled for longer times. Not a big issue these days because newer versions of Android offer good control over location permissions for apps.
Note to myself: A related idea would be to inform the user when current location is very different from their currently selected named location, if any.
Aside, note that a few feet or few yards will not make much difference in terms of accuracy. 2 kilometers on the earth's surface roughly translates to about 1 arc-minute of difference on the celestial sphere.

Show Asteroids
I have no experience in watching asteroids, but some users have previously asked for support for watching Asteroids.
To begin with, SkEye could show a short-list of bright Asteroids.

ecliptic and orbit paths
It would be great to be able to activate/deactivate the ecliptic and planets´ orbit as "Celestia" does

Add compass ordinals beneath Alt Azm
Beneath the Alt Azm values that appear on the left side of the UI when in landscape mode, it would be great to see the abbreviations for the compass ordinals out to 16 points. For example, N, NNE, NE, ENE, E, etc. I find myself always mentally converting the azimuth to these values, and maybe other people do the same? Thanks.

Create Reminders from Time Machine
(Edited to remove idea of year selection)
Am fascinated with your Time Machine feature.
I want to be able to make reservations with whatever I see in the telrad with corresponding time and have it notified to me just right before the reservation time .. For example,, I may see Uranus and Neptune so close together on a future date and I can really screenshot it and save it ,but I would rather reserve the time and have it notified to me within a week notice , for example.. So I can forget about it until the time has come

The ability to mark an event in the calendar is a nice idea. SkEye could just add an event in the user’s calendar. It wouldn’t have to keep track of the event itself!

... SkEye to 'remember' the latest assign star if assignments have to be 'cleared'
If for any reason you have to 'clear assignments', screen points to a rather useless position and you have to consult the menu, 'add' a new alignment star, which is timeconsuming. Would be nice to be able to directly select from the last used alignment stars.

Be able to change to original Greek constellation names rather than latin
What the title says also the ability to change the language of the interface (Not with bot translation though) would be also nice.
P.S Even better would be to have alternative names in pop ups or brackets etc

Include a plan view of the solar system
It would be nice to see how the planets are positioned in the solar system in a plan view. A lunar phase calender is a welcome addition

Overall opacity
I love SkEye, and the night mode is excellent, but I often find even the night mode is still too bright for me and throws off my eye adjustment. Could there be an opacity setting implemented for the entire interface on top of the other opacity settings? If not, even just another opacity slider to take care of the things that don't have one yet would be awesome.
Those of us using OLED displays could benefit quite a bit from that little extra darkness. :)

Binary/multiple stars (especially coloured ones) are popular.

Manual update of satellite TLEs
My only one sky, stars and planet surfer!
I'm a radioamateur and I like follows satellits for watch them in the sky and use with my radio too.
In particular way, I love the ISS - International Space Station.
Due to the frequents altitude reposition, the TLE keps change frequently, so I think is a very good idea add a manual update selecting the file into the sd-card.Thank for your great job!

Option to include Earth's continents, so I can point down and really experience how I'm on a sphere!
I love being reminded the stars are around me at all times. I also love being reminded of the fact I'm on a sphere.
SkEye helps me with the first, which is awesome. Couldn't it also help me with the second?
I'm imagining a very basic map that basically lets me see the shape of the continents more than 20 degrees away from my location. Visualizing that gives me a big thrill.
I'm unaware of any app that does that right now, and I think it'd be mindblowing.

Specify lat / long in degrees and minutes not just decimals
Allow lat / long to be specified in degrees and minutes.
This can be in addition to decimals, because sometimes only decimal values are at hand.

Transmit orientation via USB, wireless, or bluetooth to a computer.
It would be useful to have the orientation information available to external applications. It should be fairly simple to transmit the orientation to a computer so that it could use that information in a satellite tracking or telescope control application. Perhaps go with a standard API like ascom.

Support for Bluetooth Goto
Loving this fantastic app, keep up the work. I am sure others will have asked for Bluetooth goto, same as sky safari.
There is open source code available on Google code with drivers for goto and for Bluetooth serial.
Many standard adaptors out there for Bluetooth to serial. (50 USD)
I suggest you start with skywatcher and celestron as they have largest young users who are learning and will want goto.Bluetooth is better than cable because frees the mobile from the camera for point and shoot plus less cables to get tangled.

Playlist/bookmark function - add an object, store it and display it
Select a target in viewing mode
Long-press or provide a button to store it like a playlist/bookmark
In indirect mode, make the playlist available as separate tab and also within map view using a unique symbol like a "!" or a check/tick mark
