The ability to jump to a year was added in a recent SkEye release.

The ability to mark an event in the calendar is a nice idea. SkEye could just add an event in the user’s calendar. It wouldn’t have to keep track of the event itself!

I can give u an example .. last year Venus came through Beehive cluster which is an interesting event and it will happen again and again . Other example is Jupiter passing Saturn next Dec 2020 or 2021, not sure and it is not going to happen again for a generation or so. I am sure there are so many similiar interesting events that it will take everybody to participate with time machine to seek them out and share with us. Different members have different interests of events that one might not realize is interesting as well. Maybe you can incorporate a screenshot button so that we dont have to fumble around with other screenshot app outside skeye to do so. and upload it to your website for members to share .Often, we go to distant dark sky locations that we are out of cellular service range, so we need something to save our screenshots for uploading at later times.

i agree cuz Milky Way turns around and is hard to follow unless you are way out in the boonies where the sky is dark free of light pollution. It is interesting to know the exact position of MW at any time and date which is not alike everyday. During winteritme, it is horiziontal in the northern sky at midnight while it is vertical during summertime . I downloaded Star Chart (500mb) at Microsoft Store for free and it is the best app to see where the MW is.. and you can fast forward or reverse it . it spins like a somersault .. Actually our clusters and stars show the plane but it is not intutitive enough to me, though. Galaxies are usually outside the plane. If you plan to highlight the plane of MW , be sure not to display it too boldly or it will obscure the other vital markers on screen. I suggest a dark grayish background close to black just enough or any darkish color.

You can change location by adding as many locations as you want!
